What is Agenda PJ's? Click to find out.
Private aviation is often a window into the movement of business, industry, and investment in a community. Beginning this week, York County Agenda will take a closer look at the activity happening at Rock Hill/York County Airport (KUZA) through Agenda PJ's (private jets), a weekly feature highlighting notable aircraft movements and visitors to the airport.
Each week, Agenda PJ's will track selected arrivals and departures, focusing on business jets, corporate turboprops, medical and government aircraft, and other interesting visitors from outside the region. The goal is not to list every aircraft movement, but to highlight the flights that provide insight into how the airport is being used by businesses, organizations, and visitors traveling throughout the Carolinas and beyond.
Rock Hill/York County Airport handles thousands of aircraft movements each year, including flight training, recreational flying, and local aviation activity. The airport also experiences significant increases during major regional events. When the Adidas basketball tournaments come to the Rock Hill area, the airport often sees one of its busiest stretches of the year, with multiple private and charter aircraft arriving as college basketball coaches and recruiting staffs from across the country travel to evaluate some of the nation's top high school and youth basketball talent competing in the tournaments.
The airport's role in the region is also expected to grow through aviation education. Winthrop University plans to launch a Bachelor of Science in Aviation & Business Management program with a targeted Fall 2027 start, pending final FAA review. The program, delivered in partnership with ACES Flight School, will combine business coursework with FAA Part 141 flight training labs at Rock Hill/York County Airport, creating another connection between the airport, higher education, and the region's future workforce.
Agenda PJ's will focus on the aircraft and trips that stand out — from a Citation Excel arriving from a major business destination to a Pilatus PC-12 connecting York County with another market. As with our other recurring features, the goal is to provide a look at something happening in York County that many residents may not see — the activity taking place above the runway and the role the airport plays in the region's economy. See what took off and landed here in York County...
