York County Restaurant Inspections: Clover Pizza Hut Receives B on Follow-Up

Pizza Hut in Clover received a B with a score of 95 during a follow-up inspection, while 73 of 74 York County inspections resulted in A grades

The South Carolina Department of Agriculture conducted 74 food establishment inspections in York County from Sept. 29 through Oct. 5, with 73 resulting in A grade and one in a B.

Pizza Hut in Clover received a B during an Oct. 2 follow-up inspection. The restaurant scored 95, with inspectors citing expired sanitizer test strips along with equipment and facility maintenance issues.

Pizza Hut received a B with a score of 95 during an Oct. 2 follow-up inspection.

Inspectors reported that sanitizer test strips at the restaurant were expired. The violation was not corrected during the inspection and required verification.

Other violations included a walk-in freezer door that would not close because of excessive ice buildup, additional ice buildup inside the freezer, grease buildup on the floor beneath the fry unit and dirt and debris on walls and the ceiling.

The inspection report said the facility was downgraded because violations from the previous inspection had not been corrected. A follow-up inspection was required within 10 days.
