The South Carolina Department of Agriculture conducted 70 inspections across York County during the Aug. 5–11 reporting period, with 66 inspections resulting in A grades and four resulting in B grades. No C grades were reported in the inspection data reviewed.

Lees Convenience Store Plus in Rock Hill received a B grade with a score of 84 during an Aug. 6 routine inspection. Inspectors found fried pork chops, fried chicken and chicken on a stick being held below required hot-holding temperatures, while lettuce, coleslaw and turkey were above required cold-holding temperatures. Hot dogs, turkey and bologna had been kept beyond the seven-day limit. Inspectors also found a handwashing sink blocked by chairs and initially without paper towels, along with improperly stored utensils and surfaces that needed to be made smooth and cleanable. Several violations required verification, and the report noted that consecutive violations could be referred for enforcement. The store returned to an A grade during an Aug. 11 follow-up inspection.

La Calentana/Victor Cafe in Fort Mill received a B grade with a score of 93 during an Aug. 7 follow-up inspection. Inspectors reported that the operation was obtaining water from an unapproved source and dumping gray water into an unsecured connection, both priority violations that had not been corrected. The person in charge did not have the required food-handler credential, and inspectors also cited the operation for failing to return to its commissary within 24 hours. The report states the establishment was downgraded to a B because priority violations remained unresolved. Another follow-up inspection was required within 10 days.

China in Rock Hill received a B grade with a score of 97 during an Aug. 11 follow-up inspection. Inspectors found cooked chicken and pork that had been held for more than seven days. The report states the B grade was posted because the restaurant failed to correct the priority violation. Another follow-up inspection was required within 10 days.

Wing King of York LLC in York received a B grade during an Aug. 6 routine inspection. The restaurant returned to an A grade with a perfect score of 100 during a follow-up inspection the next day.
